I always find these studies so interesting. People think they have to conform to a certain mold in our society. I just don't get it sometimes. What's so hard about telling the truth? We really care too much about what other people think and how they view us. The best advice I've ever gotten was this "Just be yourself." Plus it's not like the questionnaire is going to judge you about how many people you've been with. Now I personally think the smaller the number the better, but that's just me.

The latest study out of Ohio State University says Men and Women lie about their number of partners...and they do it to conform to gender roles. SMH

Ohio State University asked 300 of its students to fill out a questionnaire that included 124 different behaviors. Some students were hooked up to a phony lie detector, only they didn’t know it was phony.

When subjects believed they had to tell the truth, men reported having fewer sex partners, and women reported having more. Researchers found it was only sex-related behavior that men and women lied about in order to conform to gender norms.

Terri Fisher, researcher and psychology professor, reported "Sexuality seemed to be the one area where people felt some concern if they didn't meet the stereotypes of a typical man or a typical woman."
