One of the Rudest Cities is Located in Washington State
It doesn't take much to be considered rude. In fact, for some it seems to come quite naturally.
I like to think of us folk in the Pacific Northwest as pretty tolerable for the most part. Some may not hold the door open for ladies as much as I'd like to see or give up their seat for seniors but I've witnessed several acts of kindness over the years of living around here.
Real Simple ranked the most rude cities, according to their survery, and found there's only one city in Washington state that was so rude it made the list of the 50 rudest cities in the United States.
The answer may shock you.
#28. Seattle, WA
Okay, the answer may not shock you at all.
In my travels I've seen a variety of polite and rude based on region. Most in the Northwest would think people form New York and New Jersey are considered rude by default, but they're honestly not. They're straight and to the point. If you're being a jerk, they'll tell you to your face. It doesn't mean they want to punch you, it just means that they're noticing how you're acting and they'll tell you letting you know to check your attitude as a courtesy, so-to-speak.
We're a lot more passive-aggressive here in the Northwest. We hide our rudeness with sarcasm and pent-up aggression that can cause someone to burst. Or wait it out and then cuss them out when they're in their car or something.
If you've been to Seattle, you may have seen this. People kinda keep their head down, do their own thing oblivious to the world around them.
And never mind driving in Seattle. I don't recommend it.
Seattle could have even been higher on the list but those cities are reserved for New York City being #1 and LA being #2. It may just be a numbers game but either way just when you thought we were safe from the list, Seattle creeps up.
