Should You Remove Tattoos From Past Relationships? [POLL]

Dear Rik, Michele and Cefus:

My boyfriend and I have been talking marriage. I think he is getting ready to propose. We did have a bit of an argument on Friday over one of my tattoos. It has the names of my two kids and my ex-husband. He wants me to remove my ex's name. There is no way to do it without changing the entire tatt.

My ex and I are friendly. He is a part of my past that I cannot change. The more I think about my boyfriend's request the more I don't want to change the tatt. I also see his point. He doesn't want to be reminded of my ex everytime we make love. Can you ask your listeners what they would do? Should I remove the tatt or not?
