Sports History = FREE PIZZA! #16 UMBC Tops #1 Virginia, Little Caesars Has To Pay Up
For the first time in the history of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, a #16 seeded team has defeated a #1 seed. It happened tonight at the Spectrum Center when the unheard of UMBC (University of Maryland - Baltimore County) upset top-seeded Virginia 74-54. Not only did it make sports history but it also means FREE PIZZA for everyone!
National restaurant chain Little Caesars Pizza is again running their annual promotion in conjunction with the event promising a free lunch combo if the (then) impossible happens.
It did. And YOU win!
According to their website: "...Little Caesars will give away one free HOT-N-READY® Lunch Combo to every family that comes into a participating store between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. (local time) on April 2, 2018 and mentions this offer at the check-out counter..."
There is one franchise in Yakima at 23rd Ave. and Nob Hill Boulevard. Whether or not they will, indeed, participate on the promotion come April 2nd remains to be seen.
