These Fried Green Beans Might Be my New Favorite Thing in Yakima
I love trying new food. When I'm at a restaurant and see something I've never tried before or even something I have tried before but from a new location. I love Cheese Zombies and now that the Kiln carries them, it's something I keep in mind. Even though we have places in town that have Cheese Zombies daily, but still, fun to see.
I was somewhere yesterday that advertised fried green beans. it's nothing new and nothing I haven't had before but it was something new from this specific local restaurant in Yakima. What made them stand out to me that much more is they had a list of sides in a nice, printed sheet on the counter and then they had fried green beans written in Sharpie and stuck to this list via Post-It note.
I found these at Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Yakima.
I love the seasoning they use when frying their okra so I knew I'd love these, and I was right.
It can be rough because they have so many sides to choose from including okra and other favorites like mac & cheese, potato salad, corn and a lot more and now they add this, it's hard to choose.
Now, Dickey's, admittedly, isn't a place I go to all the time. Maybe a few times a year I get that craving for their brisket mac & cheese or the fact they have turkey as an option but I'm glad I had the craving yesterday because it introduced me to this and maybe, if it's been a while, might wanna check it out for yourself. Next time, I'll just get two orders of these fried green beans.
