Woman Dies After Being Ejected From Car in Union Gap
A 39-year-old woman died in Union Gap on Monday afternoon after falling out of a vehicle and police are searching for a driver. Police say they don't know if she jumped out or was pushed out of the vehicle. Union Gap Police say officers were called to the 1800 block of Rainier Place at about 3:45 pm Monday after a report of a pedestrian collision. But when they arrived on the scene they found something different.
When police arrived they found the victim with serious injuries
Officers arrived to find 39-year-old Nicole Haggerty suffering serious injuries. Authorities say she suffered life threatening injuries and was rushed to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital where she died. A witness described to Union Gap Police a fight between the driver and Haggerty who was a passenger in the vehicle.
The witness told police Haggerty was ejected during the fight
The witness says during the fight Haggerty was ejected from the vehicle falling into the road. Police say the driver then took off and fled the scene. In a news release from the Union Gap Police Department they say the "driver is described as an adult male and was last seen west bound on Rainier Place near S 18th st. driving an early model white Chrysler Sebring."
