Yakima River Marathon To Shut Down Canyon Road This Saturday

State Route 821, better know as the Yakima River Canyon Road, will be closed this Saturday from 6:00 o'clock in the morning until 3:30 in the afternoon for a marathon race.

If you reside in the canyon, you should have received your pass for local access.

Those wishing to view the race or want to recreate can get a pass from Cabela’s in Union Gap, Red's Fly Shop and Worley Bugger in Ellensburg.

Motorists along the route will be forced to adhere to a 25 mph speed limit will be enforced throughout the race and WSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down around curves and other areas of reduced sight distance.
