Due to my job I make a lot of phone calls, and one thing that stands out to me is voice mails. What about voice mails, you ask? Well ... more and more of them seem to not be personalized. Is this too much to ask? I mean to the point there isn't even a name recorded. You know ... you get the robot message, "You have reached the voice mail box of .... (insert name)."

Rumors are swirling that Taylor Swift is in Nashville recording her next album, which may lean country this go-round. I LOVE me some Taylor Swift whether she's country or pop. Her songs either take me back to my first heartbreak or remind me to shake off the haters. So for me, I'm super excited to hear that she's recording a new album. It doesn't really matter to me whether it's country or pop. Re

A couple of weeks ago, I was struck by a minivan as I was walking across Yakima Avenue. Fortunately for me, a Moxee police cruiser happened to be at the stoplight, headed the opposite direction. You can read the complete story here. Spring break in my house means that I still go to bed early, while my kids stay up past their normal bedtime. I normally find dirty dishes in the sink and food wrappers strewn about, but this morning I found this:

A typical trip to the pet store yesterday to purchase cat food lead to the discovery of an interesting pet that I haven't seen before. It's called a "skinny pig." I thought Friday night was going to be a fun evening. My oldest son was home from college to celebrate his birthday, and we'd decided to head to Olive Garden for dinner. We parked across from Olive Garden near Chase Bank. The five of us were standing waiting at the crosswalk -- myself, my 10-year-old daughter Shaylee, my 12-year-old son Jackson, my college son Mathew and his friend Niveo. We pushe

Some recent news has my feet ready to do the Boot Scootin Boogie! Thanks to Hogback Development Co., the Yakima Valley will be getting a BOOT BARN! This is only the second BOOT BARN to open in our state, and it will be a part of the Tahoma Square on South First Street...

My niece Carly was studying for finals at YVCC yesterday when she decided to take a little break and grab some apple juice. This apple juice break turned into a computer tragedy. Yes ... she spilled her glass of apple juice on her laptop, which contains all her notes for finals to study. Her mom (Kym) was at work, but luckily we live right next door. Her mom called me asking if we had any rice. Hu
