There is nothing like driving through the middle of the night and avoiding wildlife along the side of the roads.

I've hit deer a few times and had many more near misses and it's not a fun experience.

If you are traveling the I-90 corridor on your way to the west side, you'll almost certainly run into wildlife but that's becoming a thing of the past as a new animal crossing bridge is now open over I-90 and it works!

Deer have already started to use the non-completed crossing bridge despite heavy machinery still on the overpass.

The Washington Department of Transportation hope this will reduce the number of accidents caused by collisions with wildlife.

The DOT hopes to complete 27 crossings in the near future to minimize contact between travelers and animals - so far, it looks like the deer agree with the new crossing.
