This week's Couples Court case involves a subject that's shipwrecked many a marriage: money.
This couple isn't even married yet, but one of them is wrestling with whether to spend a tax refund on herself or her fiance, who is wrestling with debt.
Here's her predicament ...

Dear Rik and Michele:
I am getting a large tax refund this year. I planned to spoil myself, but then thought about my fiance, who is in debt. He got burned by his last girlfriend. Part of me wants to help him out. The other part of me says SPLURGE. It's his own fault for getting himself in trouble. What do I do? The gift I want to buy myself will eat up the whole refund. If you were me would you splurge or not?
What do you think, jurors? Should she stop and help, or should she just go shopping?
