
Washington Ranked in the Top 10 for States where Most Smokers are Quitting
For those that grew up even a few decades ago, you'll smoking was far more prevalent than it is now.
Back when people could smoke inside every bar, restaurants would have 'smoking or non-smoking' sections, airplanes would ask you to please extinguish your cigarettes along with the putting your trays back and seats back in an upright position, cigarette smoking was socially acceptable in just about all places you'd go.
I remember we had the Mean Machine arcade in the '80s where people would smoke inside. I loved the arcade but my mom didn't like me coming home smelling like an ash tray.

Over the years, they started removing ash trays from fast food restaurants, starting posting signs saying 'no smoking inside' and even years 25+ years after banning cigarettes on airplanes they still have the 'no smoking' light on all fights, even today, as that reminder.
Cigarette smoking has been on the decline for many years and, as it turns out, Washington State is one state that has the most cigarette smokers quitting cigarettes for good.
This comes from a survey from iSelect via Flourish ranking every state and where they are with the cigarette decline.
Washington ranks in 8th place which is amazing. It could be better, but it could be a lot worse.

First place goes to Connecticut followed by New York.

Last place, unfortunately, is Tennessee followed by West Virginia.
