I try to keep an eye out for items that typically aren't found in many stores. When I saw little tubs of edible cookie dough, I thought I'd share with everyone who may be interested.

Now, at the end of the day, all cookie dough is edible, but this is more safe to eat.

Looking at the ingredients, it's all your basic cookie recipe items, too. Flour, brown sugar, butter, chocolate chips or M&Ms depending on what style you buy and a few additives. What it's missing is eggs along with baking soda and baking powder.

I think the so-called experts tell you not to eat cookie dough because it has raw eggs. There was a report a few years ago about a woman who did contact e.coli after eating raw cookie dough, but that's one out of how many people who couldn't help themselves to sample pinches between batches.

I'm not much for cookie dough but I did try this and it tasted like cookie dough as always tasted.

There's a large 'do not bake' warning on the label. I'm not sure what would happen if you tried to bake these but without key baking ingredients like baking soda or baking powder they probably woulnd't be good as it was.

If you're looking for your fix and feel guilty eating the real stuff, or just don't feel like playing E.Coli Roulette, this may be the way to go.

I found these in the bakery section at Rosauers if anyone is interested.
