GameStop To Close Over 400 Stores Nationwide In 2026

It was announced not too long ago that many GameStop locations were closing across the United States.

This may not come as a shock or surprise by many who love GameStop.

The plans were somewhere just over 400 GameStop stores were closing to close.

But which ones? And is Yakima's location safe?

GameStop stores closing is nothing new. Several locations closed in 2024-2025 as well.

Thanks to a Gamestop Closing List blog that has been keeping track of which stores were closing, here's the list so far.

As of now, Yakima's single location is safe from closing.

The only two locations in Eastern Washington are the one location in Kennewick and the one in College Place (which is near Walla Walla).

This is just the list so far for 2026 as more closing may happen later this year. We hope they don't but if they do we'll let you know.
