I have a picky eater in my family. I think most of us do. I know I, myself, am a picky eater so it doesn't bother me as much but would like it if they'd explore a little more with their food options.

The beautiful thing is there are a few places in Yakima that accommodate for this but offering a better quality version of what they're used to. I use those as a doorway to explore like-minded food items for them to, hopefully, get it in their mind that there is more out there and, when at a higher quality, it's hard to go back to the old habits.

I'm not saying to ditch chicken nuggets and mac and cheese all together. Even I get the craving for those every so often, but it's nice to explore.

One place that offers a high quality mac and cheese is Wildfire Grill on 40th and Washington.

I went with the intention of just ordering a few appetizers for us to share but when my picky eater kid saw they had a White Truffle Mac and Cheese on the menu, we ordered that, too.

I love that they loved it.

Typically at many restaurants when you order mac and cheese you literally get Kraft macaroni and cheese which is comfort food and safe, though it's something I can easily make at home. This white truffle mac and cheese is something I can't just make at home so it's perfect.

If you have a picky eater and looking to expand their mac and cheese addiction, Wildfire may be able to help.
