The 1-2 inches of snow originally forecast to hit us overnight didn't really show up... which I guess is good because the snow total will be less with this current weather system.

The National Weather Service does forecast Yakima getting 1-2 inches of snow throughout the day today (Wednesday).  Then back to the sunshine on Thursday.

Current forecast for Yakima from the National Weather Service (as of 7am Wednesday):

Today: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 31. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow likely, mainly before 10pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 21. West wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the morning.
