Meantime, here's Green's statement:

"The 2014 Community Days is just around the corner and we are busy planning, working, fundraising and float building. It takes the continuous effort of many volunteers and the financial backing from many businesses to put on this community event as well as to build and travel the float. If you or anyone you know would like to help in the planning and/or putting on of this event, we would be happy to have the assistance. We meet the first and third Thursdays of the month at 7:30 p.m., at the Solarity Credit Union building on North Wenas Road.

The Miss Selah Pageant will take place on April 26 at the Selah Civic Center from 7-9 p.m. The Community Days weekend events will begin as always on Thursday, May 15, with the Hobo Feed at the Civic Center put on by the Covenant Church along with the Lions Health Screening Trailer across the street in the Red Apple parking lot. Then on Friday, the ‘Cruz Nite’ Car, Bike & Truck Show will be in Lince Field and the parking lot by the swimming pool while the Selah Chamber is hosting a potato extravaganza at the Civic Center.

Saturday kicks off with the Kiwanis Pancake feed at the Civic Center followed by the parade then a full weekend of activities, entertainment and food at Wixson Park, including fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Sunday will again be Armed Forces Appreciation Day with a Veterans Honoring Ceremony and of course, the carnival will run the entire four days. If you would like information regarding advertising on the float trailer as it travels around please contact me.
