Greg George, who is the principal of Tieton Intermediate School is keeping his promises to the students by spending the night on the roof of the school this Thursday, June 9.

It was all part of an incentive to get them reading at the beginning of the academic year. Here is what was the students had to do....The fourth, fifth and sixth-graders had to collectively reading for a grand total of 1,000,000 minutes this school year, and if that goal was met he would brave the elements and stay out overnight on the roof of Tieton Intermediate School.

This event will start the Young Author Night during which student writing will be on display in the cafeteria. Local authors will also be on hand.

Students, parents, families and friends are invited to celebrate the students’ achivement of reaching their 1,000,000th minute of reading from 6 to 7 p.m. at the school, 711 Franklin Road in Tieton.

Hot dogs, chips and soda will be served. The community’s invited.
