Washington State was named one of the best states in the United States of America for animals and pets.

Charity website Smile Hub ranked every state on how pet-friendly and animal-friendly they are Washington State ranked in the top 5 best states for animals.
In fact, Washington came in 4th place which is great. It could be better but it could have been a lot worse.
Criteria went into the list include pet ownership rank, animal protection rank, and animal wellness rank.
A few other animal-friendly stats about Washington State being 4th place for best state for animals.
Washington ranked 6th for share of state land designated for parks and wildlife.
Washington ranked 8th for animal protection laws ranking.
Washington ranked 9th for animal charities per capita.
Washington ranked 13th for share of no-kill shelters.
Washington ranked 16th for share of pet-owning households.

The United States alone has almost 3,000 different types of animals native to America with about 40% at risk of being extinct.
American also house about 150 million pets across 95 million households, according to Smile Hub. That's a lot of litter!
With the different states and how well they do for animals makes a big difference.
Fortunately for us, Washington State ranks very high on the list.
The best state for animals and pets is Oregon followed by Colorado and Nebraska with Washington in 4th place.
The worst state for animals is Alabama followed by Maryland and 3rd goes to Hawaii of all states.
