When my sister was in town we figured we'd go out to eat at one of the local restaurants in town. Nothing too fancy, nothing too highbrow, but something nice enough that we could eat and catch up along with other family members.

Some place close enough and convenient.

We decided on Waterfire Restaurant and Bar.

Farm-to-Fork Restaurant in Yakima

Waterfire Restaurant and Bar is a culinary treat in Yakima. They have several favorites from steak to seafood to pasta dishes. Great appetizers, vast drink menu, and a seasonal menu that changes every few months. It's always fun to see what they have on that menu.

I opted for a 'fish and chips' style meal that included giant fried shrimp that was excellent.

It came time for dessert and, though the food filled me up just fine, it's always fun to look at the dessert menu.

They had an item on the menu I've never seen before. I forgot what it was called but it was something like Brownie Cone Sundae or something to that effect.

It's not even listed on their website as of the time I wrote this.

The description mentioned it was a warm brownie with a scoop of salted caramel ice cream in an inverted waffle cone with caramel and chocolate drizzle.

Sure, why not.

As you can imagine, it was amazing. I only tried a small bite or two. The brownie was very warm and a perfect compliment to the cold ice cream.

It didn't look like this for long. Almost immediately my kid shattered the waffle cone and mixed everything together into a kind of ice cream sludge which made it easier for them to eat.

It sure was good, though! See for yourself at Waterfire Restaurant and Bar.
