Why Do TV Networks Get You Hooked on Shows, Then Cancel Them?

Why does this always happen? A TV network gets you hooked on a show and then BAM! They cancel it! They pull the rug out from under us, leaving some of us without resolution for our favorite characters.

This has happened again this year to two of my favorite shows -- "Lucifer" on Fox and "Designated Survivor" on ABC. There is #savelucifer movement on social media, so I'm hoping that it gets saved or picked up by another network.

Fox also canceled "Brooklyn Nine Nine," but NBC picked it up.
