Growing up, the Yakima Valley was always known as wine country. And, though, we still have the best wine in the world, over the last few years the beer industry has really taken over and make the rest of the county take notice.

But let's not forget about our cider friends as well.

Along with beer and wine, so many great cider companies have popped up, and I'm all for it.

It makes sense as we have all the best ingredients for amazing wine and we grow our own hops for beer, we have been growing our own produce in Washington and Oregon so it only makes sense for the Northwest to be considered as the cider capital of the world.

Avid Cider Company, from Bend, Oregon, has its roots firmly planted in the Pacific Northwest using the best produce and ingredients we have to offer keeping it all local/regional. Their ingredients are from not only Oregon but from Washington State as well.

Their latest offering is a passion fruit / tangerine imperial cider that weighs in at 8.5% abv.

This is available both by itself as well as in the Elevation Pack which has a variety of flavors including blueberry pom, blackberry & dragon fruit, and apricot.

The Elevation variety pack all have Imperial ciders at 8.5% abv.

All of Avid ciders are made from 100% fruit and are gluten free. Nice to have more gluten free options on store shelves and in tap rooms.

If you'd like to try it for yourself, according to the Avid Cider Finder, you'll find this in Yakima at Safeway, Wray's, Rosauer's and even The Kiln as needed.
