The thunderstorms in the Yakima Valley Saturday night and Sunday morning were impressive ... and to some, scary! Although I was fast asleep with ear plugs, I heard all about it the following day via video and pics on my Facebook feed. There were quite a few people who stepped outside to watch the show!

According to Accuweather, there were over 26,000 lightning strikes across the Northwest "and beyond" in a 24-hour period.

Check out this pic from the WSDOT. A funnel cloud formed in the Ellensburg area, but never touched down.
