How A-PEEL-ING: Here’s the 5 Best Places to Get a Banana Split in Yakima
I haven't ordered a banana split since I was a wee teenager. I'm not one to get dessert in a restaurant, not unless it's Spumoni at the Old Spaghetti Factory or the occasional tiramisu at that restaurant where everyone is supposedly family.
Now my daughter Willow, she loves banana splits, or at least she used to. Her taste buds change like the wind, so who knows if she still like them.
I'll still let her know that National Banana Split Day is on Saturday, August 10th, and I've found some places where she (and you) can indulge in this classic American treat.
I don't need Yelp to tell me where people in Yakima should go to find the best banana splits in town.
7. DAIRY QUEEN
We have to start off with the first place that comes to my mind, even if it is a national fast-food chain. Everybody knows you can get a banana split at the Dairy Queen. Yakima has two locations and there's one in Union Gap, Toppenish, Grandview, and Ellensburg, too!
6 . MAJOR'S
There are two Major's locations in Yakima and they both offer two kinds of banana splits: Hard Ice and Regular. Add nuts, hold the nuts, load it up with whipped cream, Maraschino cherries, and then ask them to drizzle it with one of their 12 different sauces.
5 . WAFFLES CAFFE
I've been told that you can order a banana split waffle here. That sounds so good, my tummy is rumbling right now, can you hear it?

4 . BASKIN ROBBINS
Another place that's well known to offer banana splits any time of the year is the home of 31 different flavors of ice cream! My daughter has ordered one from here before!
There are several locations in Yakima, but my favorite is the one that has a drive-thru! I'm all about the convenience, okayyyy!

I feel like I'm saving the best for last, but how would I know since I don't ever eat them? I'm going to have to try one now!
3 . BURGER RANCH
We've got Burger Ranch locations in Yakima, Union Gap, and Selah. You can add extras to yours like Health, M&M, Oreo, Butterfingers, Reese, and Snickers candies.

Don't let the name fool you, a ton of customers come here for the ice cream!
