It was a 12-Hour Marathon. But it was so worth it.

$45,000 worth it.

It was our One Call, One Miracle Radio-thon. Raising funds for a crown jewel here in Yakima – The Children’s Village.

It’s one day a year we blow up the Bull format and lay it down for the kids and families of Children’s Village at Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital.

Why? Because it is THE BEST place for children’s care in the region.

Doctors, professionals who have worked all around the nation have moved here just for the opportunity to work at Children’s Village. It’s got an outstanding reputation it has earned over the last 17 years as THE place in the Northwest for critical children’s care.

When asked to be a part of it, I didn’t hesitate.

What an honor to be a part of this.

I heard so many amazing stories. Like the story of the little girl who had a rare staph infection that felt as if her skin was on fire. A rash where it started to peel off. Not many doctors know much about it. One of the doctors at Children’s Village took one look at her and knew what it was immediately. She was treated right away and is now doing great.

The other thing we learned is that Children’s Village staff treat their patients like family. They laugh when you laugh. Cry when you cry. Celebrate when you celebrate. Are there for you when you need them. That’s the definition of family.

We are lucky to have Children’s Village here in the Yakima Valley.

Thanks to you, we raised $45,000 in one day for the kids of Childrens Village, during a pandemic.
