Kylah is a brave, joyful 7-year-old who feels most at home in the water. She's a little fish - swimming for hours, buildind sandcastles at the beach , and tossing rocks into the river. She loves camping, roasting marshmallows, and watching Hallmark Christmas movies with her family. Her faovorite colors are light green and blue, and her made-up jokes always bring smiles.

Kylah was diagnosed with Ataxia Telangiectasia. Her journey has included frequent doctor visits, hospitalizations, clinical trials, and eve cross-country travel for treatment. What began with a single well-child check quickly grew into a complex medical path but through it all, Kylah has remained resilient, joyful, and full of heart.

From Cleveland Clinic:

Ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T) is a rare genetic condition that affects the function of the nervous system, the immune system and several other body systems. Defining symptoms of A-T are zig-zag blood vessels on the skin and difficulty with coordination and movement. There is no cure for A-T but treatment addresses the symptoms.

Since she was 20 months old, Children's Village has been a vital part other care. Through physical occupational, pool, and behavioral therapy, Kylah has remained her strength, developed key skills, and learned to advocate for herself in school and medical settings.

Children's Village has been more than a therapy center. It's been a trusted partner, advocate, and safe space. They've gone the extra mile to support Kylah and her family, helping them navigate the unknowns and celebrate every victory along the way.

Children’s Village and the NICU have been life-changing for Bowen and his family. They provided not only expert care but also guidance, compassion, and hope during the toughest times.

We love hearing stories like Bowen. We have more CMN Miracle Family of the Month as well you can catch up on.

Services through Yakima's Memorial Foundation and Children's Miracle Network can ensure our children and their families can get the help and services they need. Find out more at the memfound.org.
