The Best Restaurants in the World Has 1 Location in Oregon of All Places
There's a place in Oregon that serves food so good, it just earned a spot amongst the top 1,000 best restaurants in the planet!
If fine dining cuisine is right up your alley, then get a load of this French restaurant in the Central Eastside of Portland.
Le Pigeon is quite unassuming; you'd never guess that a place with brick walls and a small industrial feel ranked just above a 5-star restaurant in New Delhi, India, Megu, and a Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris, France, L'Oiseau Blanc.
This is the only restaurant from Oregon on the list. Several eateries in California were named, from cities you would expect like Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco.
What makes Le Pigeon one of the best restaurants in the world, according to the newly released names on Le Liste's Top 1000 for 2025?
That's a great question, I, for one, am certainly intrigued. Put on your best clothes and let's go out to dinner, shall we?
LE PIGEON, 738 E Burnside St in Portland. Open 7 days a week for dinner.
Despite the fine dining reputation, there's reportedly nothing pretentious about eating at Le Pigeon, even if making a reservation to sit at the kitchen counter or a dining table is highly recommended.
The menu rotates each season, so you're likely to never eat the same meal twice. That's pretty cool!
With gourmet dishes like Black Truffle Carrot Bisque, Beef Carpaccio, Chicken Fried Cauliflower, and Blanquette de Veau, plus their mix of unusual ingredients like spicy matsutake mushrooms, leek tapioca pudding, caviar, and zero-heat habanada peppers, no wonder they've ranked amongst the greats!
RESTAURANTS I THINK SHOULD HAVE MADE LE LISTE'S TOP 1,000
About a three-hour drive from Portland is a tiny restaurant with similar upscale industrial vibes that has gained quite a reputation for serving gourmet food in a fine dining experience, Crafted. I think they should be on Le Liste, too!
Foodie travels through Washington State will also take you to Mizuna, another "It Girl" upscale restaurant that has a great reputation for gourmet food and also gives a modern industrial feel.
