Revealing Yakima’s Best Cars To Pass The Driver’s Test
A question was posed to me a few days ago and surprisingly, I had to stop and think about the answer. My memory is usually sharp, but, the question was: what was the car you drove to pass your driving test? Hmmm, I thought. I certainly remember my first car, but, I had to really reflect and think about if I had used my Dad's car or mine.
It's strange, but I'm not entirely certain. Now, that was 43 years ago next month, when I turned 16 on January 20th, 1978. So, there's probably much that I don't 'accurately' remember. Like how many touchdowns I 'actually' scored or how well I 'actually' played guitar or how well I 'actually' did with 'the ladies. Sometimes memories are better left unchecked.
I've concluded that I very likely used my Dad's 1973 Ford LTD. That was the car I was getting the most driving time in and probably felt most competent driving. I got my first car, a 1967 Dodge Coronet, just a week or so before my birthday and likely didn't have enough time behind the wheel of that beast to do my best driving. I did love that car - awesome wheels and tires, 440 engine, a real machine. Wish I still had it - they're selling for $20K plus if in good condition. Although, mine only lasted 6 months or so - when the driveline fell out whilst crossing the floating bridge between Seattle and Mercer Island. My girlfriend wasn't impressed. See, I should have forgotten that part.
I was so amused by how difficult it was for me to answer the question about what car I drove for my driver's test, I decided to post the question on Facebook. Wow! There is a load of good memories out there! Check these out........
