With Spring Break Comes the Return of the Spring Break Carnival in Yakima
This has been a tradition for Yakima for several years.
Sometimes it's just a simple act of driving by and seeing that the rides are being put up.
Other years it's knowing that spring break for Yakima means the carnival is in town once again.
The Spring Break Carnival is like a mini-fair. There are rides but they also have carnival games and food vendors so you can get your fair food fix to scratch that itch if you need your cotton candy and funnel cakes.
The Spring Break Carnival opens on Friday, April 4 and goes all the way through to Sunday, April 13 at State Fair Park.
If you just wanna walk in and look around, it's 100% free.
Parking is also free.
Here's when it opens each day:
April 4 at 4 p.m.
April 5 at Noon
April 6 at Noon
April 7 - April 11 at 2 p.m.
April 12 at Noon
April 13 at Noon
It may close early or not open at all due to weather conditions like rain.
how much are wristbands?
If you'd like to ride the rides, wristbands will grant you unlimited rides for that day.
You can purchase wristbands on site for $40 each which come with two carnival games.
They also sell individual tickets but most rides will take more than one ticket so keep that in mind when you're considering tickets or wristbands.
If you have kids, it's always better to just grab a wristband and leave math out of having fun.
My kids have a good time attending every year, even if it's just for a few hours. That's the best part of free entry and free parking, you can just come and go as you please.
