There was a time quite a while back when we had Wendy's in Yakima and it was in that familiar spot on North 1st Street in Yakima. There was also a Wendy's restaurant in Union Gap. Both of them closed suddenly back in 2012.

Well, after a few years of Wendy's closing they reopened in a new location on Nob Hill at Rainier Square. People were extremely happy that Yakima got its Wendy's back.

But what about the other location?

Well, I don't know if it was ever in the plans but Yakima is set to open a second location soon.

I was just casually driving by when my kids casually said, "Oh, they're putting in a Wendy's there."

This was news to me, but I'm all for it.

They had a sign set up saying that Wendy's was coming to Valley Mall Blvd. across from Costco.

It's a great location as Valley Mall Blvd. is loading up with amazing stores that will be an awesome shopping area as it continues to build.

They already have Costco and Winco. They have a car wash and Dairy Queen. They have a Toyota and Subaru dealership. They have a Lowes. With the new Wendy's on the way and hopefully more shops in the future, and maybe another restaurant or two, I could see that area becoming even more of a hot destination for the Yakima Valley.
