Cheese Junkies Closes Yakima Restaurant; Switching to a Food Truck-Only Business
I have been wondering what's the tea with why the reader board at the new Cheese Junkies restaurant has been empty lately. They just opened up shop a few months ago in the old Meraki Creations restaurant spot at 1508 Summitview Ave, which is formerly Sweet Bee's Restaurant (now located at 601 Fruitvale Blvd), which was Lutong Pinoy restaurant, which, you guessed it, was formerly the home of yet another restaurant!
I had my suspicions that the restaurant had permanently closed and was feeling rather sad about it. I've tried their food before. It was on the cusp of the end of the COVID-19 pandemic reopening of things. I am old enough to remember a few months ago when Cheese Junkies opened up and there were lines out the door with customers excited to try out the new eatery. We local folks in Yakima eat this stuff up when it comes to a new restaurant, pun intended!
My curiosity reached a fever pitch when I noticed that Cheese Junkies had gone dark for several days in a row, especially when I remember seeing just a few days ago that they were open at 6 am for breakfast! I went to their Facebook page and saw that they had posted about making the difficult decision of switching to a food truck-only restaurant.
So THAT'S why the restaurant has been closed for the past few days!
