6 Washington Restaurants Featured on Tv Good and Bad

Being on T.V at one time was everyone's dream, whether it was a game show, prime time cable show you name it. Everyone had those big dreams.

Granted some made it onto TV even people who took a career path in cooking, owning a restaurant, or diner...granted it wasn't always a good thing, some ended up on shows like Bar rescue where bars were struggling to stay afloat and a celebrity chef steps in to help. Others are featured on Guy Feiari's Diners, Drive in's and Dives.

Between the good and the bad, these places still end up on TV, so let's take a look at the most memorable moments and what got them there.

6.) The Spunky Monkey in Auburn Washington

The Spunky Monkey has been in Auburn for quite some time, since before I could even remember. So go figure the day we're across the street at the Safeway and see cameras and crew pull up and start filming some of us were taken back. Then the truth came out when they were featured on Restaurant Impossible.

The Bar was struggling, patrons were finding new places to go, one where the food wasn't all cooked in a single deep fryer, where ice machines weren't covered in mold. Needless to say, The Spunky Monkey was in dire need of help. Luckily Chef Robert Irvine stepped in and helped turn everything around. Not only did they redesign the place, but they also brought in new fryers, ovens, and bartenders to teach them exactly how to run their place. Ever since business has been booming.

5.) Crockets Public House in Puyallup

Located right next to the Washington State Fairgrounds in Puyallup, Crockets Public House was featured on Guy Fieri's Diner's Drive in's and Dives. Without a doubt some of the best cuisine you can find around Puyallup and that's saying something, Puyallup is home to many diners and eateries, however, none compare to the comfort food found in Crockets. It may be a bit pricey but even Guy fell head over heels with this restaurant in the PNW.

4.) Pizzeria Credo in Seattle

This Italian-style pub received praise from Guy Fieri who fell head over heels with the brews and food they had to offer. Considered the best place in Seattle to grab a beer and a slice of pizza it's already won over our hearts as well. Brings you a very unique style that can only be done up the right way in the PNW. Now, this may be a pizzeria but that doesn't mean they don't specialize in other Italian dishes, so next time you're in Seattle looking for a bite to eat and a cold beer consider Pizzeria Credo.

3.) Fish Tale Brew Pub in Olympia 

If you're a fan of Seafood then you're in the right part of the world, some of the best seafood restaurants just so happen to be in Western Washington, go figure since the coast isn't very far at all. If you're ever in Olympia you can check out Fish Tale brew Pub, it was featured on Diner's Drive-ins and Dives. Home to some of the delicious craft beer that won't leave your pockets empty and the Crab Canolie. Made with fresh crab and Alaskan shrimp it's one of their most popular dishes!

2.) Schafer's Bar and Grill in Sumner

This was an interesting story, the original owner claimed to be pulling in over a million a year before he sold the bar to a couple looking to invest in their future. The new owners kept the original owner on as a senior manager to help keep the place going. However, they suffered losing patrons and employees due to inner feuds within the business and how it was being managed by both owners and the manager. After reaching out multiple times they finally accepted the help of Bar Rescue.

They ended up completely renovating the Sports bar into a Country bar and when everything seemed well and done the team from bar rescue left it in their hands. Sadly not long after their departure, the owners put out posts on social media claiming bar rescue had ruined their business and forced them into changes. They claimed they are not a country bar and they are a sports bar and will slowly be going back to that and getting rid of everything that was done to the bar.

Sadly not every rescue works out, some restaurants and bars will return to their old ways and habits thinking they're better off, sadly this was not the case with Schafer's bar and grill since they permanently closed a few years back.

1.) The Red Door in Seattle

The Red Door is a Seattle favorite whether you're a usual or just visiting from out of town. The bar itself is named perfectly since of course the front door is...you guessed it a big red door. Inside the decor matches the tones of the restaurant, where some bars can seem dreary, dark, and closed off to the world the Red door is quite the opposite. With huge windows letting in natural light and an ambiance of friendly bartenders and wait staff this is a must-go anytime you're in the city of Seattle.

Not only was this place featured on Diners, drive-ins, and Dive's with Guy Fieri praising the bar and eatery, it's also been visited by many other famous chefs and bar owners just to see how they capture the magic.

Their drinks may be one of the best parts of this bar however, we haven't even gotten to the food. Their burgers are hefty, juicy, and savory, the cooks aren't shy from trying new things or mastering what they already know. Every time we've stopped in we've left with a huge smile on our faces.
