Burger Ranch on S. 1st Bids Farewell After Nearly Half A Century
Yakima is going to lose another legendary restaurant here in the near future.
The Burger Ranch on 1st announced its plans to stop operations and it's coming sooner than expected.
From Facebook:
To all of our loyal customers - We have loved all 48 years of serving the Yakima Valley our juicy burgers, fresh fruit milkshakes, crinkle cut fries and fry sauce but it's time to hang it up and enter into the retirement world.
As of July 31st, 2025 this Burger Ranch family will be closing the doors. Please come see us these last few weeks and celebrate all the nostalgia of having a Gargett Family Burger Ranch meal.
As always, thank you for supporting us and choosing a locally owned establishment in this community.

Many are upset to see this location go.
It always seemed to have people at the restaurant with plenty of cars parked up along side.
Conveniently on the corner of South 1st and Mead, you could see that legendary sign like a welcoming beacon inviting you to enjoy amazing food and treats. They also had an amazing breakfast.

Kids who grew up in Yakima, especially in the '80s and '90s will remember the epic, old school playground for kids to burn some energy and, unfortunately, during hot, summer day, end up burning their flesh on the metallic slide like happened to yours truly once or twice. It still didn't stop anyone from playing, though.
