Have You Ever Noticed Generic ‘Frosted Mini-Wheats’ Has More Frosting?
This is just one of those slight musings that we noticed the other day.
Now, there are a few items I purchase I will never go for the cheaper generic brand. I need my Crest toothpaste, I'll only by Tillamook cheese, and Charmin is the only t.p. for me. When it comes to breakfast cereal I am a huge fan of Frosted Mini-Wheats. It's a go-to for me for any time of day.
The other day, at the grocery store, my kid opted for the generic version. I don't mind as it was a dollar cheaper but mentioned I don't mind buying the name-brand one. They said they preferred that one.
Later, I found out why.
As they stated, they often have more frosting than the name brand. I didn't think it was a huge ordeal but just politely agreed as it wasn't debate class and carried on with my day.
It wasn't until the other night when I was kind of hungry, it was late at night, I didn't wanna cook anything and, in those situations, a quick bowl of cereal always hits the spot. Looking at our selections, I grabbed the box of generic frosted mini-wheats.
And, lo and behold, they were right.
Now I'll say up front that I still prefer the taste of name-brand Frosted Mini-Wheats more, but if you're just looking for piles of whatever this frosting material is on these, grab the generic brand and see for yourself.
