10 Holiday Gifts That Someone Living in Yakima Valley Would Actually Want to Get
Yakima is a crazy town, and our Valley is full of feisty locals, gentle, kind souls, and everything in between. We even have our own (very controversial but memorable) motto:
WELCOME TO YAKIMA VALLEY: THE PALM SPRINGS OF WASHINGTON...
Yakima Valley residents sure are finicky when it comes to getting (and giving) presents, but one thing I've discovered that we all can agree on is getting something LOCAL and from the heart!
If you are looking for a gift that someone would actually want to receive this holiday season, I've got a few ideas.
Gifts like artisan food, home decor, and beverages are sure to please even the pickiest person you know in Yakima Valley. (Unless you plan on giving a Seattle Seahawks gift to a 49ers fan, amirite?)
This year, I am getting myself a locally made gift that I've been wanting for years but keep forgetting to buy: a "Yakima: The Palm Springs of Washington" t-shirt!
I searched online to buy one, thinking it would lead me to a local website, but all that came up was a bunch of Etsy stores. I asked my Facebook friends, and they told me where to go (as you'll see in the gallery of holiday gifts below).
What would you add to this list though?

We Yakima Valley people take great pride in buying from the mom-and-pop stores and supporting our local entrepreneurs.
Some of these gifts can be found all in one great place, like Yakima Ship Shop on Summitview Ave in West Valley, and the Tree Top Store and Visitors Center on East 2nd Ave in Selah!

Another great place to get locally made gifts is at one of the many holiday bazaars that are about to start springing up all over the valley.
The holiday bazaars in Selah and Tieton Holiday Craft and Antique Bazaar at Might Tieton are the most popular ones I've seen around here.
