I am writing because I am conflicted about my future with my husband. He just returned home from active military duty overseas and admitted he hooked up with a woman several months ago after he got drunk. He said he was stressed, lonely and that things got out of hand. He was very honest and apologetic. My friends and family are urging me to leave my husband. I can't say that I agree with them. I am mad about his cheating, but understand how and why it happened. He's promised not to do it again. He never strayed before this. Should I leave my husband or not?
